How to spot a Fake
How to spot a Fake device and operator
We have spent considerable time locating and outlining the various fake manufacturers and operators so that you can quickly and easily find them on this site to ensure you have a safe experience. However, the world is a big place with a number of hiding places that we haven't found yet.
To help you and us find all the fake devices and copy operators, we thought we would start a global game of hide and seek....
All the fake devices/manufacturers and operators are currently hiding and we want you to seek them out and find them! Obviously you have to know what you're looking for, so we've outlined some key features that will help you identify them as fakes.
These identifying factors are not exhaustive and do not have to be all present. Sometimes you may only be able to identify three or four of them, but this may still mean they're a fake!!! Having just one of these does not qualify the device/manufacturer or operator as a fake.
Once you have identified them as a fake, check out the Manufacturers, Operators and Signatories to the Code lists to see if they are listed. If not, send us the details and we'll post them for you!
Lets see how you go...
